Darts Corner gives back: £15K+ of darts equipment gifted to those in need

Darts Corner is proud to have given away over £15,000 worth of darts equipment to communities most in need as part of our ‘Supporting The Next Generation of Dart Players’ campaign.

In February this year, Darts Corner launched a new initiative with a commitment to gifting 180 dartboards and 180 sets of darts to individuals and organisations across the UK to help ensure every aspiring player has access to the equipment they need to pursue their darting dreams.

Over the last six months our team have donated dartboards and darts to numerous darts academies up and down the country, as well as to the public service with staff at Barry Fire Station, Thames Valley Police and the Armed Forces among those to benefit from much-needed equipment as part of our giveaway campaign.

Darts Corner’s Managing Director, Craig Heenighan, said: “We initially planned to gift 180 pieces of equipment, with it being the maximum score a player can achieve for a single visit to the board. However, we were taken aback by the sheer number of entries we received.

“Communities across the UK are among the hardest hit, and we are proud to say that we have so far given away over 600 pieces of equipment that will be used by children and young adults all year round. We want everyone to have the chance to pick up a set of darts and play the game and equipment shouldn’t be a barrier."

Army Darts Team, West Midlands

“I’m part of an Army Darts team we have recently set up in the West Midlands. We will be in our local league and hoping to meet new people and socalise with our local community in a friendly atmosphere and bring our military and civilian communities together.”

Ellesmere Port Junior Youth Darts Club

“We run Ellesmere Port Junior Youth Darts Club to provide a safe and secure affordable place for 7-17 year olds so they can see how teamwork can bring together all age groups and abilities, to promote social relationships and personal development through playing darts.”

Darts Coaching Newmarket

“We run a local youth darts club for children in our local area and we run this for two Saturdays a month, plus holiday clubs. This is all free of charge for everyone as we are passionate about the sport of darts.”

Bridlington Darts Academy

“We run a youth academy with over 30 students across two nights. We also run a weekly youth league, an adult league, an open league and two ADC Vaults. Any extra equipment is always welcomed to support our academy nights and competitions.”

Heenighan added: "The incredible rise of Luke Littler has inspired a new generation to pick up a set of darts and dream big, but across the UK we are seeing examples of those who are most in need being unable to access relevant equipment. We want everyone to have the chance to pick up the arrows and equipment shouldn't be a barrier. By providing those who need with free equipment, we hope to see a whole new generation of Luke Littler's!"
