At the start of 2022, Josh Rock made the jump to the PDC and entered UK Q-School for the first time, where he won a two-year tour card to join the professional tour. ‘Rocky’ had a debut season to remember on the professional circuit. He won his maiden title on the tour at Players Championship 28, in October 2022, averaging 108 in the final to beat Luke Humphries 8-5. The young Northern Irishman rose to fame in the Grand Slam of Darts the following month, hitting a nine-dart leg against Michael van Gerwen. Rock signed off 2022 by winning the PDC World Youth Championship.

'Rocky' would then reach his first major quarter-final at the 2023 Grand Slam of Darts, losing 16-15 in a last-leg thriller against James Wade. Rock's 2024 campaign saw him win three titles on the PDC ProTour, including a maiden title on the European Tour, winning the Dutch Darts Championship, along with a pair of Players Championship events later in the year. The 2025 season was even better for 'Rocky', who appeared in his first major semi-final at the UK Open, and then won the PDC World Cup of Darts alongside his partner Daryl Gurney.

Josh Rock has continued to rise up the rankings, with a semi-final at the 2025 World Matchplay, followed by quarter-final runs in the Grand Slam of Darts and Players Championship Finals later that season helping him break into the world’s top 10. Those deep runs in the majors helped ‘Rocky’ earn a first call up to the prestigious Premier League Darts line up in 2026. Despite finishing bottom of the table in his debut season, Rock has made his mark on the big stage, winning the Austrian Darts Open and reaching the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Matchplay.

In his first tournament in front of the Sky Sports cameras, Josh Rock announced himself on the world stage at the 2022 Grand Slam of Darts with a brilliant nine-dart leg in his last 16 clash against Michael van Gerwen. ‘Rocky’ started the second leg with two 180s and checked out 141 to spark wild celebrations inside the Aldersley Leisure Village, in Wolverhampton. 

World Cup of Darts 2025

In June 2025, Josh Rock teamed up with Daryl Gurney to represent Northern Ireland at the PDC World Cup of Darts. The duo made history for their country as they beat Wales 10-9 in a thrilling final to secure Northern Ireland's first PDC World Cup title.
