Gabriel Clemens has been competing on the PDC circuit since 2016, making a couple of appearances on the European Tour before securing his first tour card at European Q-School at the start of 2018. In his first season, the ‘German Giant’ reached his first ProTour final with a run to the decider of Players Championship 11, where he was edged out 6-5 by Gary Anderson.

In 2019, Clemens made his first televised final at the German Darts Masters, beating former world champions Raymond van Barneveld and Rob Cross before losing 8-6 in the title-deciding clash against Peter Wright. The German would avenge that defeat to ‘Snakebite’ a year later, ending Wright’s title defence in the PDC World Darts Championship with a 4-3 victory in their third-round tie. The win made Clemens the first player from Germany to appear in the last 16 at Alexandra Palace, a run he would better just two years later when he went all the way to the semi-finals, losing to the eventual champion Michael Smith.

In December 2020, Gabriel Clemens produced one of the results of his career so far to knock out the then defending champion Peter Wright in the PDC World Darts Championship. The third-round tie went all the way to a sudden-death leg, with the ‘German Giant’ hitting double 16 to prevail 4-3 and end Wright’s title defence at Alexandra Palace.

Gabriel Clemens struck perfection with a nine-dart leg at Super Series 5. The German hit a nine-dart finish in the third leg of his second-round clash with Jelle Klaasen, with back-to-back 180s followed by a 141 finish on double 12 to complete his first ever nine darter on the PDC tour.

In January 2023, Gabriel Clemens broke new ground by becoming the first German to reach the semi-finals of the PDC World Darts Championship. His quarter-final clash with former champion and the top seed Gerwyn Price is one that darts fans will not forget, as Price played part of the match wearing ear defenders to block out the noise from the crowd. Clemens cruised to a 5-1 victory to advance to the final four at Alexandra Palace.
