Mike De Decker wrote his name into the darts history books after winning the World Grand Prix in 2024. ‘The Real Deal’ went into the double-start tournament as an outsider, having never progressed past the last 32 of a major event in the PDC. But the Belgian defied the odds with a run of impressive performances to win the title and become only the second Belgian to win a PDC major title.

De Decker claimed his first PDC tour card at the end of 2015, via a second-place finish on the final Development Tour Order of Merit. After losing his tour card at the end of the 2017 season, he spent the next two years playing on the Challenge Tour, the PDC’s secondary tour, but regained his tour-card status in 2020 following a successful campaign at European Q-School.

‘The Real Deal’ has seen his career go from strength to strength since then, qualifying for the PDC World Darts Championship for four consecutive years, along with debuts at the Grand Slam of Darts, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix and European Championship. In 2024, he won his first PDC senior title at Players Championship 16, beating Ricky Evans in the final.

De Decker’s major breakthrough came in October 2024 when he won the World Grand Prix. The Belgian star’s run to the title saw him beat Damon Heta, Gary Anderson, James Wade and Dimitri Van den Bergh to reach the final, where he saw off the world number one Luke Humphries 6-4 in sets to lift the title.

The darts Mike De Decker uses are his signature Mission Mike De Decker Darts in 22g. The Mike De Decker Mission darts have been designed in collaboration between ‘The Real Deal’ and Mission. De Decker’s signature darts are available in his preferred weight of 22g, as well as 24g and 26g to cater for players who like to throw with a heavier dart. Available in steel tip and soft tip and made from a high grade 95% tungsten material.

These darts feature a constant ring grip along the length of the long 60mm natural tungsten barrel, with a smooth bull nose at the front and a smooth section at the rear that includes a laser-etched Mission logo. The Belgian's darts are complete with black points, black Mission Sabre shafts with black tops and his own signature Mission flights. Available in steel tip and soft tip.

How Long Are Mike De Decker Darts?

Mike De Decker uses the longest darts on the professional darts tour. His signature Mission darts have a barrel length of 60mm, which has been designed specifically to meet his own personal requirements. The Belgian grips the rear of the barrel with his thumb and forefinger, whilst his middle finger rests on the front of the barrel and his ring finger on the point.

One of the benefits to using a longer length barrel for De Decker is that it reduces the width of the barrel. This can help him to hit consistently big scores as his darts will cover slightly less of the target he is aiming for, meaning he has more room to group his darts in the smaller treble segments on the board. An example of his power scoring came during his World Grand Prix triumph, when ‘The Real Deal’ fired in an impressive 16 180s in the final against Luke Humphries.
